About the artist

PDFPrintE-mail

I started Monette Kollodge Design, formerly known as Design Studio M, in 1991 in Bloomington, Minnesota. in 1992 I moved my office to the Itasca Building in the Warehouse District of Minneapolis to be more involved in the advertising and creative arts community. As my family grew and technology improved, I found that working from home was much more efficient and fulfilling.

In the early 1990's most of my artwork was done with traditional mediums such as watercolor and pen and ink, and pre-press production done on the computer with the earliest versions of Illustrator, Quark Xpress, Pagemaker and Photoshop on Macintosh computers.

Projects have included a wide variety of print materials such as illustrated tourist maps, magazines, newsletters, annual reports, brochures, corporate identity packages, mailers, posters and trade show exhibits. In addition, to print, a number of websites have been created, some based on printed materials. More recent projects include additional web applications including online newsletters, e-books and e-commerce and content management based websites.

The Monette Kollodge Design logo contains a stylized image of the moon in memory of my Grandmother, Margaret Monette Moon (Holmes) who was a mother, grandmother, teacher, watercolor artist, poet and inspiration to all who knew her. She nurtured my artistic talent at a young age and encouraged me to pursue a career in art and design.
