Although Christmas day is past, New Year's Day or one of the 12 days of Christmas is a fun time to make Traditional Plum Pudding with Orange Rum Hard Sauce . Inspired by watching the George C. Scott film version of "A Christmas Carol", I searched for the most traditional way to make plum pudding. I quickly determined that I was not going to use suet, as most recipes required, so I found a really old family recipe that was made with buttermilk and butter instead of suet. The steaming time is much shorter and the results are wonderful. I have found that people who like fruitcake or bread pudding are also fans of plum pudding.
